PC-Montana BBS System Operator and Independent Software Developer

Owed and operated PC-Montana BBS, the states largest online service, in the pre-internet era. The BBS was a multiprocessor DOS, Desqview, Lantastic Network on multiple phone lines, and served as the FidoNet hub for other systems in the state. I also worked contact with California Eastern Labs - Developed custom, Windows based, interactive database application in Visual C++, allowed customers access to NEC's high frequency Silicon and GaAs transistor parts, software included graphical Product Selection Guides, Smith chart output, printing and access to Spice models.

Software & Hardware Design Engineer

Defined and developed the digital hardware sections as well as all the instrument firmware, and production test software. The instruments featured front panel operation, analog hardware interface and remote control via GPIB and RS232. The current products LDC-3700B & LDT-5910B are still very similar to what I developed for them over 10 years ago. Additionally, I worked on a couple very interesting custom applications. 1) IBM plant in New York to bring a high speed Automated Test Station for laser diode characterization online. 2) BELLCORE to developed the first prototype 16 channel WDM laser diode current source and temperature control rack.
